I am a professional athlete and compete with running blades. I was born with a birth defect which impaired the development of my lower legs and feet. I consequently had amputations and surgeries done when I turned 19. Afterwards I studied Actuarial Science at the University of Stellenbosch and graduated with an honours degree in 2017. Only after finishing my studies, I jump started my running career and focussed on the 100m to 400m sprints. I have presented my country, South Africa, at the Tokyo Paralympic Games and I'm currently training hard for the next Paralympics in 2024. I am very dedicated, hardworking and love what I do.I also love to share my story and I've been invited to several events to act as guest speaker. It is a privilege when some can find healing in others' wounds.
